Obituary of 3 Martyrs

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation mourns the martyrs General Wissam Sabra, Captain Elie Khoury, and Soldier Hussein Ghazal, who were martyred on June 6, 2026, as a result of a hostile Israeli airstrike targeting them on the Khardali–Kfartebnit road (Nabatieh).

A brief overview of their lives is provided below:

Martyr Brigadier General Wissam Sabra

• Born on August 19, 1972, in Beirut.
• Joined the Lebanese Army as an Officer Cadet on January 4, 1993, and advanced through the ranks until attaining the rank of General effective January 1, 2024.
• Awarded several commendations and congratulations from the Commander of the Army.
• Attended several training courses in Lebanon and abroad.
• Married with three children.

Martyr Captain Elie Khoury

• Born on October 4, 1994, in Kfarjarra – Jezzine.
• Joined the Lebanese Army as an Officer Cadet on November 12, 2012, and advanced through the ranks until attaining the rank of Captain effective July 1, 2023.
• Awarded several commendations and congratulations from the Commander of the Army.
• Attended several training and academic courses in Lebanon and abroad.
• Married with one child.

Martyr Soldier Hussein Ghazal

• Born on October 3, 2003, in Arnoun – Nabatieh.
• Single.
