The opening ceremony of the regional demining school in Said el Khatib Barrak – Hammana

The opening ceremony of the regional demining school was held in Said el Khatib Barrak – Hammana and several soldiers and civilians graduated after attending the explosives expert course. The ceremony was attended by Brigadier General P.S.C Ziad Nasr , the head of LMAC, representing the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun as well as several ambassadors, military attachés and representatives of donating parties and organizations working in humanitarian demining operations in addition to several officers and journalists.
Brigadier General P.S.C Nasr delivered a speech on the occasion in which he stated that the technical support offered by the French government in addition to the financial aid offered by the European union have resulted in opening this school which will effectively contribute to boosting training capabilities of workers in the demining field and in training new teams in this field.
Moreover, EU representative MS. Julia Koch De Biolley delivered a speech on the occasion in which she stressed the importance of the cooperation between  the LAF and the EU in the demining field and stated that the accomplishment that were achieved through clearing infected lands are the fruit of a clear strategy and that building this school is a pertinent evidence of the bilateral partnership.
In the end, a briefing of the school and its accomplishments took place and diplomas were distributed to the graduates.
