Rescue of illegal migrants off Chekka Shore during their boat's sinking.

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On September 23, 2023, a patrol of the Navy Forces from the Lebanese Army, with the support of the Lebanese Civil Defense, successfully rescued 27 illegal migrants (all of them of Syrian nationality) who were on board a rubber boat that was sinking off the coast of Chekka Shore.

The Army Command warns against the dangers of illegal migration as it puts the lives of migrants at immediate risk. In addition to facing legal prosecution before the competent authorities, the Army affirms that its military units continue to take the necessary measures to combat it.
