When the blast took place at the Port of Beirut on the 4th of this month, the Foreign and Arab countries hurried to provide food and medical aid to Lebanon. The task of coordination had been entrusted to LAF who in turn received the major part of these aid. However, the associations and NGOs received a part of them.
To date, 192 airplanes from 42 countries and 5 ships arrived to Lebanon. The LAF received the cargos and turned them over to embassies and associations according to a signed document.
LAF units were able to distribute to the affected areas all of the food rations they received, equivalent to 40.000 food rations. And they will resume the distribution as soon as they receive new aid. During the current period, the LAF units will continue to distribute bread until they run out of flour received within the aid.
