The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation declares the sad demise of Retired Pilot Brigadier General Gergi Tanios Chehwan who passed away on 16/09/2023.

The following information presents a brief summary of his life and military career:

•          Born on 25/01/1946 in Baabda.

•          Enlisted in the Army on 18/10/1965 and rose through the ranks, starting as a lieutenant on 01/12/1968 and reached the rank of Brigadier General as of 01/07/1994.

•          Received several medals and decorations as well as commendations and congratulations of the Lebanese Army Commander in Chief several times.

•          Followed several educational and training courses in Lebanon and abroad.

•          Married with 2 children.
