Security measures during the past month of January

The Army Headquarters - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: 

As a result of the security measures taken by Army units in different Lebanese regions during the past month of January, these units arrested 878 individuals of different nationalities for their involvement in different crimes such as trafficking narcotics, theft, smuggling, the possession of weapons and illegal substances, unlawful roaming in Lebanese territories without legal papers, and unlawfully driving cars and motorcycles.

The confiscated items amounted to 47 illegal weapons of different types, quantities of light and medium caliber ammunition that amounted to 2246 bullets, narcotics, smuggled tobacco in addition to telecommunication devices, vehicles, motorcycles and fishing boats.

The arrested individuals were turned in along with the confiscated items to the relevant authorities in order to take the necessary measures.
