A cooperation agreement was signed this morning in the Army Command – Yarzeh between the Lebanese Army and Sagesse University, including special facilities for active duty soldiers, retirees and families of martyred soldiers. The agreement was signed on by the Army Commander in Chief, General Joseph Aoun, on the Lebanese side, and by the university's president, Professor Lara Karam Al-Bustani, in the presence of a number of officers and a delegation from the university administration.

General Aoun expressed his appreciation to the President of the University for this initiative, stressing that such steps reduce the burden of education on the military, especially in these difficult circumstances that Lebanon is going through. He pointed out that the Command’s encouragement for officers and soldiers to pursue their education stems from its belief that knowledge alone can raise the level of the individual and advance society in various fields.

For its part, Professor Al-Bustani stressed that the university highly values the efforts of the army and its troops in maintaining security and civil peace in Lebanon, and places cooperation with the military institution on top of its priorities.
