Tripartite meeting in Ras el-Naqoura

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

A special tripartite meeting was held today in Ras el-Naqoura chaired by the UNIFIL Commander Major General P.S.C Stephano Del Col in the presence of a delegation of Lebanese Army officers chaired by the Lebanese government coordinator Brigadier General P.S.C Hasib Abdo in the framework of taking resolute actions aimed at fighting coronavirus.

The meeting touched on the latest incidents that took place along the Blue Line as well as the aerial and naval breaches. The Lebanese delegation reiterated its commitment to the implementation of resolution 1701 with all its clauses.

The Lebanese side also stressed the need for the withdrawal of the Israeli enemy from all occupied territories and mainly: the areas adjacent to the north of the Blue Line, the farms of Chebaa, the hills of Kfarshouba, the northern part of el-Ghajar town and occupied area B1. Additionally, the Lebanese side reiterated the need to include area B1 in future United Nations resolutions and reports just like all other mentioned occupied areas.

The Lebanese delegation asserted its naval rights and warned of the dangerous decision taken by the Israeli enemy with regard to oil exploration in naval areas adjacent to the Lebanese regional waters.
