Tripartite meeting in Ras el Naqoura

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 05/08/2021, a special tripartite meeting was held in Ras al-Naqoura, chaired by the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon - UNIFIL, Head of Mission, Major General Stefano Del Col, and attended by a delegation of LAF officers headed by the Lebanese Government Coordinator with UNIFIL, Brigadier General P. S. C. Hasib Abdo.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Lebanese delegation brought up the Israeli aggression, which included artillery fire and airstrikes targeting Lebanese territory yesterday and early today.

It blamed the enemy for the consequences of changing the rules of engagement and appealed to the international community and the United Nations to exert maximum pressure on the Israeli enemy in order to curb its hostile practices.

The Lebanese side also denounced the recent increase in attacks on Lebanese shepherds. It strongly condemned the use of Lebanese airspace to bomb Syrian territory, considering that what happened in Lehfed (Jbeil) and Wadi Majdal (Koura) as a result of these attacks is a clear violation of Lebanese sovereignty. The Lebanese side condemned the enemy's continuous violations of Lebanese sovereignty, by land, sea and air, and reaffirmed its commitment to UN resolutions, especially Resolution 1701 and all its inclusions.

Finally, the Lebanese side stressed the necessity of the Israeli enemy's withdrawal from all the occupied territories, including: the area adjacent to the north of the Blue Line, Shebaa Farms, and the Kfar Shuba Hills, and the northern part of the Ghajar region, and the occupied B1 spot and the new seventeen points that were considered a permanent violation.
