LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun received in his office in Yarzeh the Australian Defense Minister Mr. Christopher Pyne accompanied by the Ambassador of Australia to Lebanon Ms. Rebekah Grindlay along with an accompanying delegation. Discussions during the visit tackled the relation of cooperation between the armies of both countries.

Minister Pyne commended the relation of cooperation and coordination between the Australian Defense Forces and the Lebanese Armed Forces particularly in the field of fighting terrorism. Minister Pyne noted that Lebanon has achieved the mission of vanquishing the terrorist organizations with great success. Minister Pyne also announced during the meeting that Australia is offering 14 Land Rover vehicles, 4 of which are designated to be used as ambulances, to the benefit of the Lebanese Armed Forces. He hoped that the ongoing cooperation continues between both sides and wished that the relation would be further strengthened thanks to the strong base that was set up decades ago.

In his turn, General Joseph Aoun expressed his gratitude to the Australian State for the continuous support offered to Lebanon and voiced his confidence that the relation between both armed forces will witness further development in the future.
