Clashes and exchange of fire in Tayouneh – Badaro

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 14/10/2021, while a number of protesters headed to Adliya for a protest, there was an exchange of fire in Tayouneh-Badaro, which led to the killing of a number of citizens and wounding others.
 Immediately, the army reinforced its deployment in the area, conducting foot and motorized patrols, and raided a number of places in search of the shooters, and arrested 9 people from both sides, including a Syrian. Investigations began with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial autrhorities.
The army command made contacts with the concerned parties on both sides to contain the situation and prevent a slide towards sedition, and the command reiterated its zero tolerance with any armed, while army units continue to deploy in the area to prevent renewed clashes.
